Oh Melbourne, oh Melbourne

It has been almost three months since I came back from my visit back home to Taiwan and I can honestly say that Melbourne is truly a city provides endless food and it is full of interesting antique discoveries. Here is a list of my new findings in Melbourne including a cafe, a burger place, a dessert house, a market, a book store and a antique shop. I will take you on a journey where you can do it all in one day if you even visit Melbourne!

First, you gotta wake up and embrace the Melbourne weather. It will be a bonus for you if the weather is sunny; but really it will be a good day nonetheless when you get to start it at Naked Espresso Bar located on Little Bourke Street, Melbourne CBD.

The cafe is not extremely big, it s a medium size store where you may sit at the bench facing the street or there are three tables against the wall. The atmosphere there is amazing. Their music picks up your mood, their book selections are arty and their service is utterly friendly. I love it!

After you enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast, you can then take a tram or train to go to South Yarra. Now, if you didn’t know, there is this street in Melbourne called Chapel Street. It is about 4kms long and it runs along the suburbs of South Yarra, Prahran, Windsor and St Kilda East. It is basically Melbourne on one street where you can find amazing food, beautiful clothing, interesting antiques; oh and Channel 10 Melbourne is over there too. So it is a street which you must visit.

Hello Sam, an American burger style place located on the South Yarra end of Chapel Street would be a nice place to visit. I tried their burger – Uncle Sam and it was delicious. Although I wasn’t a fan of their chips and service, but I have forgotten about all that after my bite of their burger. It wasn’t the best burger I have tried though.

P.S
If you are in Brisbane, or planning to visit Brisbane… Please, you need to go to Ben’s Burgers. They are the king of burgers. They only have three choices, however it is enough as they honestly make each burgers to PERFECTION.

Craving for some dessert after your burger? Take a stroll down the street towards Prahran and you will find Ganache Chocolate at the corner of Chapel Street and Toorak road. The dessert is irresistibly good there. If you have a soft spot for chocolate, do try their Triple Mousse. If you like fruity dessert and coincidentally love passionfruit and mango, try their Passionfruit & Mango slice. If you love macarons, the shop offers 7 flavours and the lavender flavour is to die for. On top of that, their service is amazing. You will be greeted with beautiful smiles.

P.S
If you happen to have some time, visit upstairs and sneakily pop your head in their kitchen and watch how they make those magnificent sweets.

Lunch and dessert would probably fill up your tummy and you probably would need to take a long walk, or would want to at least. Thankfully you are on Chapel Street. Take a walk down the street towards Prahran and Windsor way. There are plenty of shops you may visit.

Now ladies, you have a love for shoes you will need to pop into Zomp Shoez where they offer shoes that are made worldwide. From made in China to made in Brazil. Zomp Shoez have other stores located in Melbourne also and you may find their address on their website. (They are Australia wide, so please find their addresses online if you are in other states.)

If you like antique and do not mind second hand clothing that are incredibly funky and fashionable at the same time, please pop into Shag toward Windsor end. The store has an unique smell, it may not be for everyone but I personally do not mind it. It offers mostly long sleeves tops, jacket, sunglasses, bags shoes; basically you can find treasures in the store. Shag also have other stores located in Melbourne and you may find them on their website. I went there the other day and fell in love with my purchase. Shag finds their treasures in Melbourne and overseas. Please don’t be shy and have a chat with Greg who is there on Friday – Monday. He is super lovely and he will tell you stories on his journeys in the purchasing world.

After your shopping or window shop, find a new yet old book to read on your way home at Syber’s Books. Penny is the lady who runs it and she has two cats that accompany her while she is there. She gives off a real friendly vibe and I truly enjoyed being in that wonderland of books. You will get to find book in any categories and I have found a book which provides synonyms for most vocabulary. It tells you the origin and how you should use it. I have a passion for books. I understand everything we read can be found online but I don’t know why, holding a book and feeling the paper is just so different than reading it digitally.

Feeling hungry again after all that shopping and reading? Well, if it is a Wednesday then you are in luck. QVM has the night market from 5pm-10pm and it is on till March 2016. (unsure if it is a yearly event, sorry). You can do more shopping there with a drink of sangria on your hand. Try some paella or oysters. You will definitely have a nice evening there with the atmosphere it provides, the amazing food the stalls offers, the live music they play and the stalls that sell from painting to wood cravings! Do bear in mind that there could be a lot of people depending on the weather and time.

Book your tickets now and fly to Melbourne today to try all these fabulous foods and buy those quirky clothing!
